Banja Luka Pier, Banja Luka, BiH

Student-workshop in 2017 as part of the HERD Energy cooperation between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) – Faculty of Architecture and Design Trondheim, University  of Sarajevo – Faculty of Architecture, and University of Banja Luka – Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

 

The Banja Luka Pier project is a small intervention in the open public space near the Vrbas-River in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina),

A result of a process that involved research into the topic of urban acupuncture, analytical and project planning, and the construction of an object.

Thirty students of architecture, construction and geodesy from Trondheim (Norway), Sarajevo and Banja Luka (both BiH) participated in the project in the international team.

They worked together at all stages of the process and faced the relationship between the scale of contemporary urban environment -meanings, forms and functions, as well as the problems of functioning modern cities. The form of a multifunctional linear structure that provides activities such as boat fitting, rest, sunbathing, play, recreation, and unique views of the complex of fortresses . The object arises from a context supported on the one hand, while on the other it generates additional values, pointing to the identity potential of the site.
